'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' to end with season four

Say it ain't so, Kimmy!

Sources have confirmed that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is ending after Season 4 although fans may still likely see the gang again given talks about a movie happening with Universal Television.

According to Deadline, the fourth season of the zany Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be its last. Filming is only half-way complete on the run, delayed so that co-creator Tina Fey could launch her Tony-nominated Mean Girls musical on Broadway, so there's no chance of an abrupt end for the Emmy-favored comedy. Plus, check out pics of the new season! Netflix then gave the series a two-season commitment, launching the first season in 2015. The seven episodes that make up the second half the season will be available at a later date in 2018. The show is now in production on the back half of the season.

The series has been among Netflix's most critically-acclaimed shows, making its sudden end surprising. The excitement of Kimmy's new position in life reaches a record screeching halt when she arrives to the office and her first task is to fire someone.

Amazon grows its workforce in BC adding 3000 new jobs
Amazon now employs over 6,000 people across Canada, with 1,000 of them based in Vancouver at the company's Telus Garden location, which opened in 2015.

But the series is a sad loss for fans.

After all, the show's premise rests on Kimmy's rescue from a doomsday cult and reintegration into society. Joining Kimmy on her journey are her best friend and roommate, Titus Andromedon (Burgess); her former-employer-turned-friend Jacqueline White (Krakowski); and landlord Lillian Kaushtupper (Kane). The series was also nominated for numerous awards, including 16 Emmys.

Kimmy was a very important show for Netflix, as it is widely regarded as legitimizing the service in terms of a its original content.
