Dozens left hanging upside down 100 feet high on Japanese rollercoaster

Dozens left hanging upside down 100 feet high on Japanese rollercoaster

Riders on the Flying Dinosaur at Universal Studios Japan found themselves unexpectedly suspended upside down, 100 feet in the air, after the ride stopped.

Kyodo said the ride had two similar incidents previous year.

One carriage of the "Flying Dinosaur" ride, located in the park's Jurassic Park-themed area, stalled close to the ground.

The same roller coaster ride had run into similar trouble in August and September previous year.

One carriage stopped just before reaching the terminal, but the other carriage stopped at about 20-30 metres above ground on its upward track.

Paraguay Announces Plans to Move Tel-Aviv Embassy to Jerusalem
The us President stressed that he considers the "ideal" location of the Embassy of the Arnon in West Jerusalem . Trump said , thereafter, he told his ambassador to Israel . "But that's the way government works".

Japan's Kyodo news agency said the ride's built-in safety system detected an "abnormality," and automatically halted the ride. Despite the incident, many people lined up to ride the roller coaster as soon as operations resumed shortly after 7 p.m.

A spokesman for the Osaka theme park said the suspension of the roller coaster was the result of the operator's priority on safety.

"It's already a terrifying ride, so I want them to operate it safely", another woman, who rode the ride shortly before it stalled, told the Times. "I don't want to ride it anymore".

Universal Studios Japan was packed with holiday-makers at the time - during the country's "Golden Week", where the majority of Japanese workers are given a week off around the end of April due to a cluster of national holidays at that time.
