Snapchat finally reveals the iPhone X lenses it promised months ago

Exclusively iPhone X users will be able to see the three lenses which will be available today due to the TrueDepth Front Facing camera of devices.

Last year with the iPhone X, it was revealed that there would be exclusive Snapchat lenses coming to the iPhone X. Now fast forward about half a year later, it looks like those lenses are finally here.

Apple also said at the launch event of iPhone X that its TrueDepth camera sends a beam of infra-red light and maps 30,000 points on your face to get the detailed information of your face. It's unclear if new filters will be added, and how long the existing ones will be available. Are you comfortable with Apple letting app developers have access to the TrueDepth camera to enhance their apps?

What do you think about this new feature of iPhone X by Snapchat?

German court orders Catalan ex-leader's release on bail
The court has been considering what to do about a Spanish extradition request for Mr Puigdemont for more than a week. Sanchez said in a letter from a Madrid jail published Thursday that he was ready to try again to be elected.

The new Lenses are created to reflect surrounding light in a more realistic manner and add a touch of blur to the background, Snap said. The masks do a decent job covering up your glasses (if that's what you want), but you're out of luck if you want your glasses on top of them (we tried).

It will also artfully blur the background using a technique called bokeh, which is familiar from the iPhone's Portait Mode. You can make use of different masks which you can use within the lenses.

For the time being, Snapchat has released three filters so far. Those 3D objects can also reflect and react to ambient lighting, producing shadows and highlights that follow the contours of your face and the surroundings. You can go ahead and grab the updated version of the Snapchat application from the official AppStore's page for the iPhone X.

There have been questions in the past about how much of the data from facial mapping app developers have access to, but Apple is stating that there won't be access to the Face ID information that can identify the user, just the advanced facial mapping that allows for new features like this.
