I'v Proof Syria Attacked Citizens With Chemical Weapons - Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that he had ordered a military intervention in Syria alongside the United States and Britain in an attack on the chemical weapons arsenal of the country's regime.

"France will not allow any escalation that could harm stability in the region... regimes that think they can do everything they want, including the worst things that violate global law, cannot be allowed to act", Mr Macron said.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement that Canada stands with its allies and that it supports the decision " to take action to degrade the Assad regime's ability to launch chemical weapons attacks against its own people".

The sources said if France were to attack, the strikes would most likely come from warplanes rather than its naval frigate off the Lebanese coast, and that they would likely to take off from France rather than its Middle East bases.

"We have proof that. chemical weapons were used, at least chlorine, and that they were used by the regime of Bashar Al Assad", Macron said during an interview on France's TF1 television on Thursday.

On Friday, Bon-Ton filed notice that it had selected the Hilco/Gordon Brothers bid as the baseline bid for the bankruptcy auction. Online shopping, which has affected all brick-and-mortar retailers by reducing mall traffic, hit Bon-Ton particularly hard.

Mr Macron said he has been talking regularly this week with US President Donald Trump about the most effective response.

She said she spoke on Thursday with Mr Macron. That acknowledged that Syria had crossed a red line that Mr Macron set past year promising French military action if the use of gas was confirmed.

US President Donald Trump tweeted earlier that Russian Federation needed to get ready. The Western states put the blame of the attack on Damascus, while the Syrian forces firmly denied the claims.

For both May and Macron, the strikes made good on their respective predecessors' pledges to retaliate over Syria's use of chemical weapons.

Mattis said he hoped that experts from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons would soon be granted access to Douma, but he noted that any possible inspection would not be able to establish who was responsible for the incident.
