76ers get the worst on Joel Embiid head injury

76ers get the worst on Joel Embiid head injury

The 76ers were scheduled to travel to Atlanta on Thursday for a Friday game, March 31, against the Hawks.

League sources confirmed to The Post's Tim Bontemps that the surgery is expected to keep Embiid out of action for two to four weeks, and the NBA's postseason starts on April 14.

With eight games remaining in the regular season and no injury worse than "facial contusion" now attached to the collision, Sixers fans are hoping for a smooth recovery so that Embiid is okay to help the team's first playoff push since 2012.

The 24-year-old was taken to a local hospital for additional tests.

Embiid is averaging 22.9 points and 11 rebounds per game this season.

It all stems from this collision with Markelle Fultz on Wednesday night.

Adea Shabani, Missing Actress, May Be Body in Shallow Grave
Discrepancies in Spotz's alibi raised warning bells but he disappeared before police could track him down for further questioning. Shabani came from Macedonia and had been in Los Angeles less than two years, according to her friends.

In Embiid's absence, rookie sensation Ben Simmons will have to carry a bigger workload for the playoff-bound Philadelphia 76ers.

However, he later began experiencing symptoms, has since been diagnosed with a concussion, and has been placed in the NBA's concussion protocol.

In a devastating new development for Philadelphia 76ers fans, franchise star Joel Embiid will require emergency surgery for an orbital fracture.

Fultz was driving toward the basket 20 seconds into the second quarter when he collided with Embiid, who immediately went to the floor.

On Thursday, the Sixers announced that Embiid suffered a concussion and a fractured orbital bone as a result of the play. "He's a tough guy". "I was trying to get the ball at the same time I was watching him". After the game, Fultz sent out prayers for his recovering teammate. "When Embiid goes to the bench, the 76ers have been outscored by 3.9 points per 100 possessions, barely better than the New York Knicks' net rating (minus-4.4)".

Embiid released a brief video on Instagram late Wednesday night, sharing a message of "not good" while laying in a hospital bed.
