Rumoured death of Nikolai Glushov in New Malden: police investigation

Nikolai Glushkov, a Russian businessman the United Kingdom refused to extradite to Russia on fraud charges, has died in his London home, his neighbor Pat Egan told CNN.

He was a close associate of Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, who was a friend of murdered spy Alexander Litvinenko.

Mr Glushkov's friend Damian Kudryavtsev posted a tribute on his Facebook page, with a photo of of Mr Glushkov and the simple message: "Nikolai Glushkov 1949-2018".

An inquest into Mr Berezovsky's death recorded an open verdict.

Nikolai Glushkov's death comes amid heightened concern following a nerve agent attack on a former Russian spy in England and as the government said it would investigate the deaths of a number of Russia-linked individuals which have raised suspicions.

"The death is now being treated as an unexplained", a London police statement said.

In the 1990s, Glushkov was the deputy director of LogoVaz, a vehicle sales company founded by Boris Berezovsky, and "Aeroflot", Russia's flagship airline and largest passenger carrier.

Speaking to The Guardian at the time, Glushkov said he was extremely sceptical that Berezovsky who was found hanged in a bathroom had died of natural causes. I have quite different information from what is being published in the media.

Green Bay Packers Release Jordy Nelson
With Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb on the decline, Gutekunst is intrigued by the marquee names available at wide receiver. Nelson, who turns 33 in May, is coming off a poor season that saw him catch 53 passes for 482 yards and six touchdowns.

He was released in 2004, before he was granted asylum to the UK.

"Boris was strangled. Either he did it himself or with the help of someone".

He was jailed in 1999 for five years after being charged with money laundering and fraud.

"Too many deaths [of Russian emigres] have been happening".

Billionaire and business oligarch Berezovsky later ran afoul of the Kremlin when he publicly denounced Putin and brought a lawsuit against his ally, fellow billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Glushkov died at his London home aged 68, and his cause of death is yet to be confirmed. In March 2017, he was sentenced to eight years in prison in absentia for stealing $123 million from Aeroflot in Moscow.

Russian Federation has dismissed accusations of any involvement in the Skripal case as "nonsense", saying it would only cooperate with the British investigation if it receives samples of the nerve agent believed to have been used.

"I don't think I've seen him in the last week or so, I hadn't noticed him, but I don't know what's happened - the police said they are still searching and there are lots of police cars".
