India PM app accused of sharing data without consent

India PM app accused of sharing data without consent

While the Congress accused the Centre of spying on Indians, the BJP retorted by saying the Congress indulged in data theft using one of its apps.

Just days after his minister Ravi Shankar Prasad issued threats to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed his MPs to get three lakh "genuine" likes on the social media platform.

Sharpening his attack on Monday, he termed Modi a "Big Boss who likes to spy" and also alleged that NaMo App secretly records audio, video, contacts and even tracks location via Global Positioning System.

In another tweet, the Congress chief asserted that the PM was misusing his position to build a database of millions of Indians through the NaMo app. "Modi misusing PM position to build personal database with data on millions of Indians via the NaMo App promoted by government". PM Modi mentioned that in the current scenario all government departments were working together to ensure a healthy India. "When you sign up for my official App, I give all your data to my friends in American companies".

The accusations suggested that the app demands access to the user's audio, video and even the contact lists of its users. Now he wants data on our children.

The revelations sparked a furious political...

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, the BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that this is a "classic case of technological illiteracy".

Poisoned Russian Spy May Never Recover Mental Functions, British Judge Says
Britain expelled 23 Russians as a result and Moscow retaliated by expelling the same number of Britons. He added that his friend "regretted" being a double agent "because his life had become all messed up".

Union Minister Smriti Irani countered Rahul and said even the cartoon character Chhota Bheem understands technology better than him. Technologically he is very backward. This data analysis is not equivalent to spying.

The BJP responded on Twitter, saying Gandhi was trying to divert attention. People have run away with money.

However, experts also say that data sharing could be risky business. "This data belongs to India, not Modi", Gandhi said. It has had over five million downloads on the Google Play Store so far. He called upon people to devise a campaign to spread awareness of Yoga. Congressmen believe in physical or offline membership.

A 3D animation video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi depicting various kind of asanas was launched on Sunday.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Malviya shared a picture of the disclaimer of the site and targeted the Congress party for being upfront to accept that they will share the data with a third party. There were allegations that it may have meddled in Indian elections as well, as BJP and the Congress had reportedly used the services of a partner Company named Ovleno Business Intelligence.

"Hi! My name is Rahul Gandhi".
