Ronaldo: Real Madrid should sign Neymar

Despite the speculation, Ronaldo played down how close a potential Madrid move was for Neymar.

Now aged 33, the former Manchester United man's hunger shows no sign of stopping, as Real Madrid have a Champions League last-16 tie to prepare for against Paris Saint-Germain a week on Wednesday, while Ronaldo will also be captaining his country to another World Cup in Russian Federation this summer.

Neymar has been in fine form for PSG so far this season, scoring 25 goals and registering 14 assists in all competitions.

Terming Neymar who completed his world record transfer to PSG from Barcelona in 2017 as a natural leader, Xavi heaped praises on the 26-year-old and said he is a hard-working professional who likes to let his game do the talking.

Russian pilot killed after plane downed in Syria: defense ministry
It is not known who shot down the plane, but jihadist group al-Qaeda-linked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham has a presence in the area. The authenticity of the video could not be independently confirmed but it corresponded to events reported by the AP.

"I haven't heard any official representative of Real Madrid say anything about Neymar", Ronaldo said.

The Portuguese goal machine has scored 293 in 258 starts for Real Madrid in La Liga over nine-and-half seasons - picking up five Ballon d'Ors along the way.

The former Barcelona midfielder believes Neymar will be the next player not named Messi or Ronaldo to scoop the biggest individual prize in football, and he believes the Brazilian will battle with PSG teammate Mbappe to be the best player in the world for years to come. But they will have to overcome PSG who they face later this month in the Round of 16 stage of the tournament. Ronaldo remains hopeful the clash between the two sides will be a "great game". "I feel that I can keep going at the highest level for years to come", he told GQ Magazine. "He's very happy here [in Paris], he's a top player and he's priceless". "I don't have split loyalties, I hope it is a great game and the best team wins".
