Police say Jackson, a 26-year-old linebacker with the Colts, was the passenger in an Uber when he got sick at around 4 a.m. Jackson's driver, 54-year-old Monroe pulled over in the westbound lanes of I-70 near Holt Road to help him.

The 37-year-old Orrego-Savala was convicted in 2005 for driving under the influence in California.

Amtrak Train Collided With Train, 2 Dead, 70 Injured
Just four days ago, a lorry driver was killed when his vehicle was hit by a train carrying lawmakers in Virginia . Richard Blumenthal of CT said the nation's railroads must be made safer, declaring, "Business as usual must end".

"The defendant in this case allegedly re-entered the country illegally for the second time before he put the public safety of Indianapolis at risk and took the lives of two innocent men early Sunday morning", U.S. Attorney Josh J. Minkler said in a statement. He faces up to 10 years in prison on the immigration charge, which the USA attorney's office said would be handled after any state charges are resolved. This is just one of many such preventable tragedies.

In announcing those charges, Curry criticized Trump and others for focusing on Orrego-Savala's immigration status rather than the tragedy of two lost lives.

Both men were outside the vehicle when a black Ford F-150 drove into the shoulder and struck the auto.

On Tuesday morning, President Trump tweeted a condemnation of Orrego-Savala and sent his condolences to Jackson's family.

Colts owner Jim Irsay has offered to pay for both Jackson and Monroe's funerals, the team's chief operating officer, Pete Ward, said.

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday charged Orrego-Zavala with illegal re-entry into the United States, a crime for which he could face 10 years in prison.

In this darkest moment, we choose to remember Edwin for the wonderful things he accomplished in his short time on earth, including the Edwin Jackson 53 Foundation that he started to empower athletes and youth.
