Canadian Figure Skaters Drop Horniest Part Of Routine To Secure #1 Spot

Canadian Figure Skaters Drop Horniest Part Of Routine To Secure #1 Spot

The new approach worked - Virtue and Moir helped the Canadian figure skating team to a gold medal on Monday, scoring an impressive 118.10 points to place them in first spot in the ice dance team event, ahead of the US in second and Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) in third.

Although Virtue and Moir still had to do their free dance in the event's final segment, Daleman's performance clinched gold because neither O.A.R. or the USA could catch the Canadians once the ice dancers stepped on the ice.

The Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation took silver after a spectacular performance by 15-year-old Alina Zagitova, the European champion, and the United States came away with the bronze.

The two skaters now have four Olympic medals each over the course of their careers.

In one of the moves, Virtue wraps her legs around Moir's shoulders and then grabs the back of Moir's head.

In the final free dance segment, American siblings pair Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani earned 112.01 points, while ice starlets representing the Olympic Athletes from Russia, Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev, received 110.43.

Three officers shot, suspect killed
Investigators said Locust Grove police Officer Chase Maddox, 26 was called in for backup when the suspect opened fire. One of the deputies was shot through his bullet proof vest in the stomach and is undergoing surgery, McBrayer said.

Adam Rippon of the US had an absolutely brilliant run in the men's free skate, putting up a score of 172.98, with a almost flawless routine.

("They spend most of the time at my mom's house", he says.) Coming out of the team event, Moir stressed how important the team aspect of figure skating is. It didn't quite work, but the gesture captured the unity and spirit the Canadians have brought all week to the team event. The top five out of 10 teams after the short program/short dance qualify for the free skating/free dance segment on Monday. Each team is composed of one man, one woman, and one pair, who will complete a short program, and one ice dance couple who will complete a short dance. "I would definitely support that", Moir said.

For Team Canada, it was Patrick Chan who started the day in the men's competition. I'm shaking right now, maybe from the cold or the excitement, I don't know. Early in the third period, her wheeling pass toward the crease caught a Korean skate and then dribbled off Shin into the net for her second of the contest. "We weren't happy with our approach in Sochi and we wanted to change that". As of Monday at 3:30 p.m., Germany leads the overall competition with three gold medals and one bronze, followed by the Netherlands with two gold, two silver and one bronze and the U.S. with two gold, one silver and one bronze.

"Going into it, I was like a train and I was like, 'Get on the tracks and get some speed,"' she said.

"We're really proud of Patrick, because he didn't have the fall that he wanted", ice dancer Scott Moir said.
