Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie turns down interview for Packers job

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie turns down interview for Packers job

A day before the Raiders fired Jack Del Rio, Adam Schefter filed a report that the Raiders were heavily pursuing Gruden.

Gruden previously coached the Raiders from 1998 through 2001, compiling a 38-26 regular-season record and a 2-2 record in two playoff appearances. This seems like a bit much for someone who has not coached in nine years.

A top priority for Oakland's next head coach will be re-establishing Carr, who struggled this past season. Ditka became legendary in the city thanks to leading the Bears to their only Super Bowl title following the 1985 season, but he was sacked after going 5-11 in 1992.

Paul Guenther (defensive coordinator), Greg Olson (offensive coordinator) and Rich Bissacia (special teams) are in line to be on Gruden's staff.

Jesse Lingard can't stop scoring incredible goals for Manchester United
In the 24th minute, United earned a free-kick on the edge of the Derby box but Mata's effort was saved brilliantly by Carson. Manchester United are 2/9 favourites to win this FA Cup match whereas Derby are massive odds - 13/1 to win at Old Trafford.

Gruden, 54, last coached in the National Football League in the 2008 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gruden's younger brother, Jay, is headed into his fifth season as coach in Washington. Jim and John Harbaugh were active for four seasons from 2011-14 in San Francisco and Baltimore, respectively.

According to Jim Trotter of ESPN, the Packers requested an interview with Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, but McKenzie declined.

Personally, I enjoy Gruden as an analyst, though he is sometimes comical and overzealous, and his commentary during the Steelers-Bengals game regarding Vontaze Burfict and JuJu Smith-Schuster was nothing short of idiotic. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Raiders were not releasing the names of candidates. Late owner Al Davis hired Art Shell in 2006, 11 years after firing him the first time. Gibbs stepped away following the 1992 season with three Super Bowl titles in his career.
