Trump says he's not planning to fire special counsel Robert Mueller

Trump says he's not planning to fire special counsel Robert Mueller

The documents were provided to Mueller's team by the GSA in September in response to requests from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but the transition wasn't informed at the time, according to people familiar with the transition organization.

Mike Allen follows up on the story at Axios this morning.

Kory Langhofer, general counsel for the Trump transition group, wrote in a letter to senior Republican officials that the disclosure by the General Services Administration was "unauthorised" - as he does not consider the private and privileged documents to be government property. It should be noted, however, that Carr's statement fails in a number of respects to respond to points made in Langhoffer's letter.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told CNN: "I haven't heard anything about any firing, but we have to get past this investigation".

Langhofer argues in the letter that decision by GSA officials went against what he calls "the GSA's previous acknowledgement concerning" the Trump campaign's "rightful ownership and control of" transition team materials. He said the agreement was laid out in June before a lawyer at GSA, Richard Beckler, a Trump appointee, who has since died.

In addition to the emails, CNN reported, Mueller's team was also able to secure access to "transition laptops, cell phones and at least one iPad" without a subpoena.

Missile launched at Israel, lands within Gaza
It now seems that there is a possibility to discover additional terror tunnels, which challenges Hamas from restraining itself. It added that Hamas is the authority governing the Gaza Strip and as such is responsible for everything happening there.

Several former Justice and national security officials and experts in federal criminal law cast doubt Saturday that the Trump transition team's complaint amounted to a serious breach.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin says he doesn't have any reason to believe President Donald Trump will fire special counsel Robert Mueller.

The U.S. intelligence community has concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin directed efforts to influence the presidential election campaign in ways that would help Trump and hurt his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton. G.S.A. deputy counsel Lenny Loewentritt also told BuzzFeed Saturday that before using G.S.A. devices, the Trump transition team had been informed that materials "would not be held back in any law enforcement" actions; "therefore, no expectation of privacy can be assumed", he said. Both men have pleaded not guilty and a trial is expected next year.

"Our committee has direct jurisdiction over the Presidential Transition Act, and it simply does not support withholding transition team emails from criminal investigators", the Maryland Democrat said.

"The reality is that this administration has complied in every single possible way with the special counsel, tax payers have spent millions and millions of dollars on this investigation that has not yet proven any sense of collusion with the Russians", Short said.
