Shelby: Trump won't be the difference for Moore in Alabama election

Attorney Gloria Allred (R) and Beverly Young Nelson hold up a picture showing a message and a signature of Roy Moore during a press conference on November 13, 2017, in NY, alledging that Roy Moore sexually assaulted Nelson when she was a minor in Alabama without her consent. Mr Trump told voters four days before they go to the polls that the "LAST thing" he needs in the closely divided Republican-controlled Senate is a "Liberal Democrat" who opposes his agenda.

While Ivanka Trump criticized Moore, her father repeatedly bashed Democratic candidate Doug Jones and finally endorsed Moore on Monday. There was a little mistake made.

The president didn't have much of anything to say on Moore's behalf, however, other than to point out he would be a reliable pro-Trump vote in the Senate.

"We can not afford, the future of this country can not afford to lose the seat", Trump said referring to his party's narrow 52-48 advantage in the Senate.

"Ivanka Trump on Roy Moore: There is a special place in hell for people who prey on children", read a billboard on a truck with the president's daughter's face, referencing her statement from November when the first sexual misconduct allegations broke out claiming Moore molested teenage girls while in his 30s.

"We can not afford - this country, the future of this country, can not afford to lose a seat in the very, very close United States Senate".

Trump's words don't just carry political capital.

Though, Fox News reports the role Strzok played in the Clinton investigation may now be under review at the Department of Justice. The agent, Peter Strzok , is considered one of the most experienced and trusted F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators.

Numerous Republicans have called on Moore to step aside in the race.

Sen. Richard Shelby explained on Sunday why he didn't vote for Roy Moore. Now, Senate Republicans are less sure they can kick Moore out if he wins.

A RealClearPolitics average of polls shows Moore with a almost 4-point lead over Jones heading into the final days of the campaign.

That's why it was so notable when the White House said the president wouldn't explicitly campaign for Moore.

White House spokesman Raj Shah said Saturday that Trump has recorded the phone message on Moore's behalf.

But on Friday, less than 32km from the Alabama border, Trump erased any plausible deniability he might have had in this US Senate race.
