DOCTOR WHO Reveals the New Costume for Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor

The BBC today revealed its first look at the Thirteenth Doctor's new costume.

The suspenders are a nod to Matt Smith's 11th Doctor, and the stripes on the jumper are reminiscent of the striped scarf worn by Tom Baker's 4th Doctor.

Released this morning via the Beeb's official Doctor Who Twitter account, the unexpected image quickly gained global attention. Because this is a really exciting time, and Doctor Who represents everything that's exciting about change. It's more than an honor to play the Doctor.

Already fans have begun to discuss the look and there appears to be references to previous incarnations of the Time Lord in her outfit.

Yemen's Houthi fire missile at Saudi Arabia's Riyadh
A Saudi-led coalition became involved in 2015 to help prop up Hadi's government after Shiite Huthis seized the capital Sanaa. According to videos published on social media, smoke could be seen rising near Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport.

Logistically, though, we do gotta say that the jacket/robe/whatever that is looks like it'll probably fall off anytime she runs more than a couple of seconds.

Whittaker's costume gives us a lot to ponder. While the length of the coat echos David Tennant the 10th and the color of it, Sylvester McCoy and the 7th. Jodie Whittaker of the BBC series, "Broadchurch", will debut as The Doctor in a two-part Christmas special. In-story, the Doctor has the ability to regenerate after being killed, coming back with a new body. Presumably, those new characters will either be the Doctor's newest companions or the people who become important to her journey next season.

The coat lining matching the graphic on the shirt is a lovely touch, but this is a very interesting look for a new Doctor.

The brunette beauty will be joined by Bradley Walsh, who will play Graham, Tosin Cole as Ryan and Mandip Gill as Yasmin.
