In the sting operation by India Today TV, Salgaoncar is seen and heard speaking to an undercover reporter, who poses as a bookie, while standing on the pitch of the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium on the eve of the second One-day worldwide.

Pune (Maharashtra), October 25: Pune pitch curator Pandurang Salgaoncar is set to be suspended after he was found to be giving inside information to the reporters, disguised as bookies, ahead of the second ODI of the three-match series between India and New Zealand.

"As with all global cricket, the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit has an ICC ACU manager on the ground in India and we are in close contact with him".

In the BCCI statement, Rai added: "We are looking into the issue and in contact with the concerned officials".

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly as he helped the home side restrict New Zealand at 230 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the second ODI match of the series here on Wednesday.

Obama aides slam Trump over claim about past presidents, fallen soldiers
All you have to do is ask the military people, but I believe his policy was somewhat different than my policy. On Tuesday, Trump bragged about calling loved ones from all those killed in action during his presidency.

The India Today footage of Salgaoncar talking to a reporter, who was posing as a bookmaker, was broadcast a few hours before the match.

As soon as the sensational news broke out, the chances of the 2nd ODI between India and New Zealand getting called off have increased significantly.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and International Cricket Council (ICC) rules state that no one, other than the authorized officials can come inside the stadium or inspect the pitch for that matter.

'We have asked for a detailed report and will act upon it accordingly, " the CoA Chief further said. "The BCCI will continue to enforce strict measures in case of such misconduct in the future".
