Mobile drops unlimited LTE perk for trips to Canada and Mexico

Mobile drops unlimited LTE perk for trips to Canada and Mexico

Customers will now have a maximum LTE data limit of 5 GB in Mexico and Canada, after which they will be reduced to Simple Global speeds, meaning up to 128 kbps for most plans or 256 kbps with T-Mobile ONE Plus. The carrier adds that less that less than 1% of users with this plan use over 5GB of data when traveling to Canada and Mexico.

T-Mobile has announced its latest Uncarrier initiative which is called "Mobile without Borders", the company is doing away with extra call charges across North America.

Starting on November 12th, the Mobile Without Borders plan will introduce a 5GB LTE data cap on unlimited customers when they're visiting Canada and Mexico.

Two years on and the Uncarrier has made a decision to slap a monthly limit of 5GB on LTE data before throttling speeds. Why?

Tories discuss early leadership election in wake of PM speech
In a bid to rally May, audience members gave her a standing ovation while she moved away from the microphone to clear her throat. But she defined the "British dream" for most people as the prospect that "their children will do better than themselves".

It's not shocking that T-Mobile would do this. Starting on 12 November, the LTE speed will drop to 256Kbps for Oneplus users and 128Kbps for other users after the daily limit has been reached.

The mobile carrier said that it wants to improve and make a decision to "prevent usage beyond the intent of the product".

That roaming data was specifically for Mexico and Canada. The service was meant for T-Mobile users with the Simple Choice Plan which was back then a plan that came with unlimited talk and message service but the data was pretty expensive. Either way, T-Mobile says that less than 1 percent of users who travel to either country use over 5GB in a month. For customers who already have a data limit, not a lot is changing, but the Data Stash option that lets you roll over unused data can't be used in either Mexico or Canada.

If you have any more queries on the change and how it will reflect on your mobile usage, you can check the dedicated T-Mobile FAQ page to get all the answers.
