Leishman takes two-shot lead at BMW C'ship

Leishman takes two-shot lead at BMW C'ship

Fellow Australian Jason Day and American Rickie Fowler trail by three strokes.

Now there are advantages to having some degree of anonymity, he says.

Jason Day made his first hole-in-one in nine years, shot a 6-under 65 and goes into the weekend at the BMW Championship with a chance to end 16 months without a victory.

His round of 69 leaves him 15 off the lead - which is held by Marc Leishman - and in joint 50th place in IL.

"I'm really happy to make a couple of birdies coming in and put a little space between me and the other guys", Leishman said after a deft chip at the par-five 18th for a closing birdie.

Leishman shared the 54-hole lead at the Dell Technologies Championship TPC Boston two weeks ago with Justin Thomas, who surged ahead in the final round to win the event.

The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue this week as the PGA Tour makes its third of four stops in this season-ending series at the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill. "I just knew regardless of what I did, I was going to play well".

Former Georgian president Saakashvili forces his way into Ukraine
According to Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, 16 border guards and police officers sustained bodily injuries during the incident. And it is all the same to me who breaches the state border, whether fighters in the east or politicians in the west.

Chasing his second PGA Tour victory this year, history suggests Leishman can get the job done. Obviously not as many today but the conditions were quite a bit different.

Leishman, though, was able to pick up two shots on Day and Fowler, who each shot 70.

Phil Mickelson shot a 69 on Saturday, marking his seventh straight round in the 60s.

The US Women's Open champion mixed seven birdies with an eagle and a bogey for an eight-under 63 to take a two-shot lead over Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn.

"The 62 was obviously pretty nice but, you know, today was nearly as satisfying going into a Saturday with a lead to play the way I did, gave myself a lot of chances".

Anirban Lahiri carded even par 71 in the second round to finish the first two rounds at four-under and dropped from overnight tied-14th to tied-35 at the halfway stage of the BMW Championship here.

"The biggest thing for me is for him to be able to be comfortable enough to have conversations with me out there, " Day said. "That's more conducive to good golf". If Day or Fowler intend on catching Leishman, it likely will require a super-low round. "I'm just trying to do that".
