It's Your Last Chance to Comment on Net Neutrality Plan

"Americans overwhelmingly support strong, enforceable net neutrality rules at the FCC", wrote Internet Association President Michael Beckerman.

The FCC, led by Republican chairman Ajit Pai, voted in May to start the formal process of unwinding the 2015 rules. The group also adds that the unique comments were the ones that individuals took time to write and are in favor of Title II net neutrality rules.

As is standard, comments must be filed by midnight Eastern time on the date of the deadline. Still, it's best to get your comments on the record before the end of the day tomorrow.

National Guard Deploying to Texas for Hurricane Relief
The members of the 179th Infantry Regiment and the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team were packed and ready to go to Austin. Charles Christianson, a Guard helicopter pilot from Russellville, deployed to Sugar Land, Texas, on Tuesday.

The iPhone maker's comments on the FCC's proposed Internet regulations outline a handful of policy goals, from promoting consumer choice and prohibiting Internet fast lanes that prioritize certain traffic, to providing transparency about how broadband providers manage traffic and networks. Service providers can't give special access to business partners or companies that pay them off.

"The telecom industry's own study essentially shows what almost all other polling on this issue has shown: that they are getting trounced when it comes to public opinion, and people from across the political spectrum overwhelmingly agree that they don't want their ISPs to have control over what they can see and do on the Internet", Evan Greer, campaign director of open internet advocacy group Fight for the Future said. As part of the FCC's review of internet regulations, Pai has asked whether the FCC needs rules that prohibit blocking or throttling traffic, or providing Internet fast lanes. "Providers of online goods and services need assurance that they will be able to reliably reach their customers without interference from the underlying broadband provider", the letter argues.

Evan Greer, campaign director for Fight for the Future, said: "The unprecedented number of comments in the FCC docket underscores what everyone already knows: people freakin' love the free and open internet and are willing to fight tooth and nail to defend it". Pai has said the regulations stifle corporate innovation and investment and are not necessary to guaranteeing an "open internet".
