Final 4 Thaad launchers to be installed tomorrow

Final 4 Thaad launchers to be installed tomorrow

Clashes occurred throughout the night as some 400 residents fought off police officers near their community center in Seongju, some 300 kilometers south of Seoul, where the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system has been partially deployed on a military base.

They have raised worries over rumored health hazards linked to the system's powerful radar and the possibility that the town will become a target of North Korean attacks.

Mr Moon said the leaders agreed that reducing regional tension and "quickly solving" the security challenges posed by North Korea's nuclear and missile programme were critical.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says supporting a Russian-Chinese road map would help resolve the nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula. With the four additional launchers installed, U.S. Forces Korea will have a fully operational THAAD battery at its base in Seongju.

In a telephone conversation with Mr Putin on Monday, he urged Russia's support for stronger sanctions against North Korea, such as cutting off oil supplies and banning the use of exported North Korean workers who are seen as a key foreign currency source for Pyongyang.

Kylian Mbappe pens emotional letter to angry Monaco fans
But club president Nasser Al Khelaifi , sat beside Mbappe, said PSG had nothing to hide over the transactions and were confident. Kylian Mbappe has said he understands if Monaco fans feel let down by his big-money move to Paris St Germain.

Mr Putin called for talks with North Korea, and warned against "military hysteria". Moon also called for a ban on overseas North Korean workers - many of them in China and Russian Federation - who provide foreign currency to the North.

Russian Federation shares the concerns voiced by China on the plans to deploy the THAAD system in South Korea, he noted.

Putin made the remarks Wednesday after meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in Vladivostok, Russia.

Meanwhile, North Korea shows no signs of ending its nuclear and ballistic missile tests, calling its recent nuclear test and other "self-defense" measures a "gift package" for the USA, warning that others are on the way if Washington continues its "reckless provocations". He told reporters before his departure from Japan that "We must make North Korea understand there is no bright future for the country if it pursues the current path".
