Boston College students attacked with acid in France

Boston College students attacked with acid in France

Four American tourists who were attacked with acid at a train station in Marseille have been identified as college students. Since then, authorities have thwarted multiple follow-up attacks by terror organizations, and it has since been revealed that ISIS hoped for much worse carnage while attacking Paris.

In January, authorities said a 15-year-old Turkish Kurd attacked a Jewish teacher with a machete and claimed he did so on behalf of the Islamic State.

Two women, aged 20 and 21, were brought to hospital following the incident in which they were apparently hit in the face with a corrosive substance.

A police spokeswoman told USA Today that the suspect did not yell any out any terror-linked threats. The prosecutor's office in the capital, which has responsibility for all terror-related cases in France, did not explain the reasoning behind the decision.

The attack that occurred around 11 a.m. local time Sunday morning at the Saint-Charles train station in Marseille was not terror-related, Marseille police said.

The Marseille fire department says two of the tourists were slightly injured.

Marseille is a port city in southern France that is closer to Barcelona than Paris.

In previous incidents in Marseille, a driver rammed into two bus stops last month, killing a woman, USA Today reported.
