Abdel Fattah al-Sisi meets with Bibi in NY

For his part, Netanyahu expressed his appreciation of Egypt's important role in the Middle East and its efforts in combating terrorism, said Youssef.

According to sources quoted in Israeli media, several other Egyptian officials participated in the meeting, including Foreign Minister Samah Shukry, Intelligence chief Khaled Fauzi, and Abbas Camel, the director of Sisi's office.

Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi held his first public meeting with Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in NY in an effort to drive a revival of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Earlier, President Sisi also met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and discussed revival of peace talks. They have, though, met in private - in Aqaba in January 2016 and in Cairo later a year ago. "It's a great pleasure to have this meeting with you", Sissi told Netanyahu at the start of the meeting, speaking through a translator. Israeli opposition leader Isaac Herzog accompanied Netanyahu at that meeting, where the men discussed a potential regional peace initiative, Haaretz reported at the time.

Then, they won 13 consecutive games and eventually won the Premier League. "Three days is plenty of time to recover". He's doing well in training, getting stronger and stronger each day.

"The US has its own perspective that Egypt is paying its full respects, however the US's designation of such group as terrorists may take more time - not only for the US, but also for the entire world", Al-Sisi explained. In photos of the meeting between Netanyahu and Sisi, the two are seen smiling and laughing.

At the start of their meeting, Mr Trump was keen to stress that achieving Middle East peace was a priority for his administration.

Israel and Egypt signed a 1979 treaty that began with overtures toward peace in 1977.

As president El Sisi discussed Egypt's efforts to revive the peace process, he also said that any worldwide initiatives with the goal of reaching a reasonable compromise between all the interested parties were welcome. This followed similar meetings that Sisi held earlier this year with American Jewish leaders at the presidential palace in Cairo.
