3 hurricanes now active in the Atlantic basin: Irma, Jose and Katia

As of Wednesday evening, the National Hurricane Center is forecasting that the centerline of the Category 5 storm will travel over Miami, then up the east coast of Florida. Jose's proximity to Irma could actually be beneficial though, as the outflow of winds from the hurricane could rip apart some of tropical storm in a process known as shearing, which keeps storms from intensifying.

The storm was named on Tuesday and became a Category 1 hurricane on Wednesday afternoon when its maximum sustained winds hit 75 miles per hour.

The storm is forecast to begin moving slightly faster in a west-northwest motion during the next two days, according to the NHC.

While it is expected to curve to the north out to sea well before reaching the United States, it could pass very close to the northern Leeward Islands as a major hurricane Saturday.

As of 5 p.m. ET, Jose was out over the open Atlantic, not far from where Irma was a couple of days ago.

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos admits World Cup hopes are gone
As if that was not enough, Mikel Obi , with a corner kick taken by Victor Moses , slipped in the second goal at the 41 minute. They visit Cameroon on Monday, with a draw putting them in position to start preparing for the 2018 World Cup finals.

Irma is a potentially catastrophic hurricane that will affect the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, as well as Cuba, the Bahamas, the Florida Keys and peninsula and the southeastern US coastal states.

Hurricane Katia, in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, has already triggered a watch in the Mexican state of Veracruz, according to the National Hurricane Center.

At 500 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Jose was located near latitude 12.5 North, longitude 42.8 West, about 1255 miles (2020 km) east of the Lesser Antilles.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles per hour, with higher gusts. Katia is a Category 1, and is expected to make landfall late Friday. Both Katia and Jose were upgraded to hurricanes Wednesday afternoon. The storm is expected to pick up even more within the next 48 hours. The hurricane decimated the Caribbean island of Barbuda and was pummeling Puerto Rico Wednesday night.

Jose is moving in some of the same path as Irma, so could hit people in the Leeward Islands as they try to recover from the effects of the "potentially catastrophic" hurricane.
