White House Women Face Bigger Gender Pay Gap Than The National Average

White House Women Face Bigger Gender Pay Gap Than The National Average

For women, it was more than $84,000.

In its Monday article titled, "White House pays women 80 cents for every dollar paid to men", CNN wrote that "women working in the White House earn an average salary of 80 cents for every dollar paid to their male colleagues", adding those numbers reflect a "gender pay gap wider than the national average of 82 cents on the dollar". On average, women in the overall USA workforce make 82 cents on the dollar.

As noted by Politico, the salaries of White House staff members were made public on Friday. The difference in pay does not neccessarily mean that women's salaries are lower for doing the same job, but that there are less women in high-paid roles.

Female White House staffers are paid 20 per cent less than their male colleagues, CNN has revealed. Half of the men on President Trump's payroll earn at least $115,000 per year, while less than half half of the women make that amount or higher. These include Gary Cohn, Trump's chief economic advisor and former Goldman Sachs president, and Chris Liddell, Trump's director of strategic initiatives and former General Motors and Microsoft executive, who both take home $30,000.

Emirates Team New Zealand foil trimmer Blair Tuke was philosophical: "If you make mistakes you get punished for them". But it was aggressive tactics by Burling that left Spithill and his mates in the dust at the outset of the race.

In July 2016, the American Enterprise Institute analyzed the White House's report from that year, and found the pay disparity has increased under Trump.

While Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's roles in the White House have earned scorn and concerns about nepotism, neither Kushner nor Ivanka are receiving salaries for their positions assisting the president. "Half the men working at the White House make $95,000 or more annually, while half the women $70,500 or less". "I wouldn't hold up the White House as the flawless example here", he said, "The White House has some improvement to make".

So what's the pay like in Donald Trump's White House?
