Maryland AG: 'Election Integrity' Commission's Request Is 'Repugnant'

Maryland AG: 'Election Integrity' Commission's Request Is 'Repugnant'

Myrna Perez, director of the Brennan Center's Voting Rights and Elections project, said that some states require that only registered voters receive the kind of data requested by Kobach.

To fulfill the request, Frosh said, Maryland's board of elections would have to violate state law.

"I'm not just going to give it away, particularly the way it's been requested", Adrian Fontes told 12 News.

Administrator of the Maryland State Board of Elections Linda Lamone said in a July 3 letter that sharing access to Maryland's voter registration lists and other information requested by the commission is prohibited by state law. The letter indicated the request applied only to information "publicly available under the laws of your state".

Critics have accused Trump of forming the commission looking into possible voter fraud because he has said he lost the popular vote only because of illegal voting.

"We do not feel like there is any evidence whatsoever of mass voter fraud in the state of Utah", said Cox. "That's why it is protected by six federal laws and two state laws".

The office of Gov. Henry McMaster said the election commission should comply with the request as far as it is legally able to.

Super NES Classic finally shows up
The more companies, developers and publishers you bring in to the project, the more Nintendo has to get lawyers involved. Perhaps Square Enix or Nintendo have their own personal motivation to keep Chrono Trigger out of the limelight.

Note that, when available, the commission also wants the last four digits of voters' social security numbers - which are often used as a security/identity verification measure by companies and services such as banks and ISPs.

Schedler says voter information like Social Security numbers, birth dates and mother's maiden name should remain private.

"We understand concerns about voters' privacy".

Mr Trump has made unsubstantiated claims that millions of people voted illegally for his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in last November's election. "At best this commission was set up as a pretext to validate Donald Trump's alternative election facts, and at worst is a tool to commit large-scale voter suppression".

The goal of Trump's voting commission is to push back against voter fraud.

"They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico, and Mississippi is a great state to launch from", Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, a Republican, said in a statement released Friday. And, it was recently confirmed by the report issued by the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS), comprised of the chief election officers of all 50 states.
