Hurricane Fernanda weakens to Cat. 2 storm in E. Pacific

Hurricane Fernanda weakens to Cat. 2 storm in E. Pacific

As of the 5 p.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Don had maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.

Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Tropical storm conditions are expected in the warning area by late Tuesday and Tuesday night. A tropical storm watch was in effect for Barbados, St. Lucia and Bonaire.

An update from the Dominica Meteorological Office said: "This system is expected to generate an increase in cloudiness, showers, possible thunderstorm activity and gusty winds across the area today into tomorrow".

The tropical storm is moving west at 18 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour.

The hurricane center said Don was expected to stay on a westward track and move through the islands tonight, then pick up speed as it enters the southeastern Caribbean. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 40mph (65 km/hr) with higher gusts.

Russia's Response Over Diplomatic Property Seizure Could 'Sober US Hotheads'
The subject was on the agenda of Putin's first face-to-face meeting with Trump in Hamburg, according to the Kremlin. Mr Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the issue at the G-20 summit in Germany last week.

Don becomes the fourth named storm of the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane season.

The Atmospheric Infrared Sounder, or AIRS, instrument aboard NASA's Aqua satellite looked at Tropical Storm Don in infrared light.

As Hurricane Fernanda moves toward the Central Pacific, and Tropical Storm Greg moves away from the Mexican coast, a new tropical depression formed in between the two tropical cyclones.

The experts at the National Hurricane Center did not, of course, intentionally name the storm after the president.

Tropical formation chances were 20 percent over the next 48 hours and 30 percent over the next five days.

The system is dealing with dry air, so development, if any, is expected to be slow as the area moves to the west at 15-20 miles per hour.
