Punitive Fire Assault On Pak Posts To Check Infiltration, Says Army

The Indian Army on Tuesday released footage of "punitive fire assaults" carried out on Pakistani military posts across the Line Of Control in a bid to check infiltration.

Gen. Narula referred to a recent action by the Army in Naushera sector in which some Pakistan posts were damaged as part of the counter terror operations. "Pakistani posts actively help infiltration", Major General Ashok Narula said. "We fear an uptick in infiltration attempts as the snow melts and passes [on the mountains and valleys] open up". "Pakistan Army has been providing support to armed infiltrators", Narula said. Indian Army's statement on counter insurgency operations comes in backdrop of heightened tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the targeted attack is being seen as India's reply to Pakistan for aiding and abetting infiltrators to cross over to the Indian side. Where is the responsibility of our government to contain Pakistan by putting sufficient pressure in global arena?
