Schools close amid Wisconsin manhunt for gun theft suspect

Schools close amid Wisconsin manhunt for gun theft suspect

Officials have closed several schools in southern Wisconsin as police search for a man suspected of stealing numerous guns and threatening to use them against public officials or a school.

Law enforcement also says he wrote a 161 page anti-government manifesto that he sent to President Trump.

The Armageddon Gun Shop was burglarized of a "large quantity" of weapons Tuesday night, the Rock County sheriff's office said.

The vehicle is registered to a Janesville man, Joseph Jakubowksi.

While several Janesville schools were closed today, the Waterloo School District has lifted its soft lockdown, but students will still be kept inside the building today, Friday, April 7, as a precautionary measure, according to District Administrator Brian C. Henning.

Elworthy said officials started evacuating students from the high school, middle school and Lincoln Elementary to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Young Auditorium at 3:30 p.m. Atkinson, Janesville, Lake Mills, Milton and Town of Beloit were placed on soft lockdown Thursday. The FBI is now offering $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Spotify is still negotiating with the remaining two of the "big three" music labels, Sony Music and Warner Music Group. In 2015, its most recently disclosed period, Spotify had US$2.2 billion in revenue, but lost US$194 million.

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Due to the burglary suspect making threats towards public officials or schools, Capitol Police are also on alert today in Madison.

Authorities said the man had been identified and was not involved in the Janesville gun shop robbery.

The manifesto was anti-government and anti-law enforcement. He is considered armed and risky and members of the public should exercise extreme caution if they see him.

"Information was received in the very early morning hours Thursday that Jakubowski has been highly agitated recently, regarding a variety of political issues", Sheriff Robert Spoden told the Wisconsin State Journal.

But, he said, police had not seen his "antigovernment or terrorist-type" behavior.

"Additionally the Watertown Police Department is maintaining a visibility and presence at our schools".
