Love sets National Basketball Association record for most points in a first quarter

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love set a new National Basketball Association record for points in a first quarter in his side's win over the Portland Trail Blazers. While it wasn't quite Kevin Love level, in the second quarter Channing Frye scored 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range.

During the first half of last season, we saw a lot of drama with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He had a chance to tie the record for most points in any quarter, established by Klay Thompson of Golden State a year ago, but missed a 3-pointer in the final minute of the first quarter.

The charming center of the Cavs was able to score 34 points during the first quarter of the game which greatly help the team in an intense play on the foreign court.

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love wasted little time making his presence known during Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Austin Rivers scored a team-high 22 points and Los Angeles got its season-long, six-game road trip off to a rollicking start with a demolition of Dallas.

Harry Winks revels in "unbelievable" debut goal for Tottenham
Too often we saw under-hit passes, sloppy control and an overall sense that he's not enjoying life at the moment. But when things looked like they were going well, a stupidly soft penalty gave West Ham the lead.

I think it's time to put to rest any Kevin Love trade rumors ever again.

Dirk Nowitzki, who appeared in only his fifth game of the season because of an injured right Achilles, scored 15 points for Dallas.

With the return of Williams and Nowitzki (a team-high 15 points, but on 18 shots), the Mavericks are truly "getting healthier". I doubt there have been many games with a different player scoring 14+ points in three consecutive quarters. Six Cavaliers made two or more three-pointers. And as great as James Harden and Russell Westbrook have been out West, LeBron is the only player in the National Basketball Association averaging at least 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists while shooting 50 percent from the floor. In total, 10 of Love's 11 field goals came off assists, with seven coming from James, two from Kyrie Irving and one from Iman Shumpert. James had his 44th career triple-double, breaking his tie with Denver Nuggets' legend Fat Lever for sole possession of the sixth-most threes National Basketball Association history. LeBron James also had his 44th career triple double by having 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists and moved up to 17th on the NBA's all-time assist list.

Following the 2013-2014 season, the Cavaliers traded their No. 1 overall pick of Andrew Wiggins to the Timberwolves to acquire Love. Leonard is averaging 24.8 points per game this season, and is quickly becoming one of the best two-way players in the National Basketball Association.

The Cavs led 46-31 after the first quarter, matching the franchise record for most points in a quarter. In fact, he attempted (and missed) just one shot.
