Obama urges entrepreneurs to embrace diversity

Kenia is one of four Jamaicans in this years U.S. State Department, Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2016, held in Silicon Valley California, United States, from June 22-24, 2016.

Obama enters his final months in office with that sense of certainty shattered by the U.K.'s decision to leave the European Union and the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron, one of his closest collaborators on the world stage.

As headliner for the seventh annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University's Memorial Auditorium, the president hobnobbed with a slew of tech luminaries, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and AOL co-founder Steve Case.

Zuckerberg also explained how Facebook was created with young entrepreneurs.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg joined the president onstage to interview three young entrepreneurs from other countries.

Clinton failed to hand over key email to State Department
It has recently interviewed Clinton's top aides, including former chief of staff Cheryl Mills and deputy chief of staff Abedin. The FBI has been investigating for months whether Clinton's use of the private email server imperiled government secrets.

For the first 7½ years of his presidency, Barack Obama could rely on the United Kingdom to back him up at almost every turn. "But it's this deep belief that you're trying to make a change, you're trying to connect people in the world, and I really do believe if you do something good and you help people out, then eventually some portion of that good will come back to you", he said. He said that boosting Internet connections would help founders around the world gain access to information and opportunities.

In today's world, Obama said, where economies undergo tremendous shifts, entrepreneurship remains the engine of growth and has the ability to turn an idea into reality.

Throughout this week, we'll be taking stock of America's innovative progress over the last seven-and-a-half years and announcing new steps we're taking to build on those efforts - including supporting advanced manufacturing and making, laying the groundwork for smart and connected cities, and expanding inclusive entrepreneurship across the United States. Obama said he was "confident" the United Kingdom was in an orderly transition from its 43-year membership in the union.

Obama is the first American president to visit India twice. Obama gave a keynote speech, where he addressed the need for more diversity in the tech industry and support from governments worldwide. "Hola, mucho gusto", Obama said, waving to the Cuban contingent from his podium onstage at Stanford University. A female entrepreneur from Egypt explained how legal and funding problems and general push-back from institutional sources ("Egypt is not startup-friendly", she said) caused her to "do workarounds" with nearly everything in order to get her business off the ground.

"It's never been more important", he said.
